Setting background image for MS Teams meetings
This article will walk you through selecting a background image to use for your MS Teams calls. Many people like to use the Katz backgrounds to ensure their surroundings look professional when attending a video meeting.
In Teams, the option to select your background comes up before you join a meeting. You can choose to setup your background before you have a meeting scheduled, or you can set it up right before a meeting you're attending.
- If setting up with no meeting planned, go to the Calendar tab on the left-hand menu in Teams, select Meet now at the top of the window and Start meeting. This will start a meeting with no attendees other than yourself.
- If setting up before joining a meeting, you can go the Calendar tab on the left-hand menu in Teams, click the meeting you are attending, and click Join.
A window will open to select your meeting preferences before you enter the meeting. To choose to use a background image, you will click Effects and avatars, which will be located underneath your camera image. A small menu will open below. You can choose to simply blur your background, or to use one the Katz background images, select More video effects.
Another menu will open to the right-hand side. From there click Add new.
A window will open to allow you to navigate to the image you want. To access the Katz background images, from the directory on the left-hand side, scroll to your Dropbox folders, underneath Dropbox select the Katz Toolbox folder.
Then select the Katz Creative Assets folder. From there, select your Katz Media division, whether Radio, Television, Digital, etc.
When you've entered the folder for your division, open the RingCentral Virtual Backgrounds folder. This folder will contain the images with Katz official branding logos. Select the image you prefer and click open. Then you will be taken back to the screen with your camera preview and the selected background where you can join your meeting.
On your next meeting, the background image should remain, but if you turn off the background image setting and need to find the image again when turning it back on, you can find the image by following the above directions to click Effects and avatars, and More video effects, and then clicking Show all in the Video effects menu. The background image you previously selected should show at the bottom of the list of available images.
